Directions: Your task is to select a notable living leader to research and prepare an oral presentation to share in class.
- Choose a notable living leader who interests you. Choose a leader who is not very familiar to you.
- Conduct research on the Internet and at the library to learn about your leader. The following questions may act as a guide in your research and are expected to be in your presentation.
- Who is your leader?
- In what area did your leader have influence? (example: astronomy, government, art, math, etc.)
- What are some of the contributions your leader made?
- Why do you think he/she is an effective leader? What leadership characteristics does your leader have that enables him/her to influence others?
- Prepare a 3 to 5 minute oral presentation about your leader that is both factual and creative. You may write notes for your presentation on index cards. Use a variety of techniques to capture the attention of your audience such as:
- audience participation through visualization
- asking questions
- role playing your leader
- dressing in character
